We would have been buds...which is saying something

...David and I, that is. Which would be nice...someone who understands pain, hurt, disappointment, struggle, heartache. Someone who doesn't judge based on appearance, "coolness," whatever. Someone who doesn't act like a friend one minute and not the next.

From Psalm 6
Have mercy on me, Lord, I have no strength; Lord, heal me, my body is racked; my soul is racked with pain. But you, a Lord, how long? Return, Lord, rescue my soul. Save me in your merciful love, for in death no one remembers you; from the grave, who can give you praise? I am exhausted with my groaning; every night I drench my pillow with tears. My eye wastes away from grief;

From Psalm 13
"How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
and every day have sorrow in my heart?
How long will my enemy triumph over me?

Look on me and answer, O Lord my God.
Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death;
my enemy will say, 'I have overcome him,'
and my foes will rejoice when I fall.

But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
for he has been good to me."

i'm so glad that Jesus is a friend like that--although, sometimes it's nice to have friends that are like that-that have some skin on =) a good friend is such a good thing!
